3D Printers which print toys are soon to become a reality thanks to 3D Printing pioneers Origo, the first company to develop a 3D Printer for children.
Origo are pitching the noncomplex usability of this machine and the fact that it is more of an appliance than a technical piece of kit; it certainly looks that way. The printer which is still in prototype stages looks different to any other type of 3D Printer you may have seen in that it is a closed unit with an opening door to access the printed toy; and it's purple!
Purple aside Origo’s machine is a real pointer to what 3D Printers will start to look like as soon as the production costs drop and they are marketed at not only commercial users and hobbyists but also the general consumer market.
This just may turn out to be the first 3D Printer that for many in a generation destined to become proficient product appraisers and designers.
